About the island

Ko Klang, Khlong Prasong, Mueang Krabi

Ko Klang sits in the middle of the Krabi River, directly across from the town. A long-tail boat from the town piers takes about ten minutes. There is no bridge, so boats are how everyone comes and goes.

Boundary and coordinates

The island boundary used on this site comes from OpenStreetMap (relation 19859881): a 344-point polygon spanning roughly 8.0049°–8.0611° N and 98.9185°–98.9588° E, centred on 8.0330° N, 98.9387° E.

Where this information comes from

Every published place uses coordinates from OpenStreetMap; none were invented. The community activities Ko Klang is known for — batik painting, model long-tail boat building, homestays, kayaking through the mangroves — are prepared in the system but not published, because their details have to come from the community first.

If you run one of these places, or live here, and want the information to be right, send it in from the contact page.

Getting there

The town-side piers used for the crossing are Khong Kha Pier, Thara Park Pier and Marina Pier. All three are on this site’s map.
